HBA of Greenville Staff

Michael Dey, Executive Vice President
Michael Dey was named Executive Vice President of the Home Builders Association of Greenville in August 2007; he is responsible for day-to-day management of the 675-member trade organization. Michael came to the HBA of Greenville from Columbia, where he was president of Michael Dey Public Relations, a government affairs consulting firm which represented numerous clients before local, state, and federal governments regarding a variety of issues including real estate development, environmental, healthcare, and recreation.

Dana Jones, Member Services and Records Management
Dana Jones joined the HBA of Greenville in September 2001. Dana is the voice you hear when you call the Home Builders Association of Greenville; she handles all member services, records management and bookkeeping for the HBA.  She also helps plan and coordinate education events.  Dana previously spent eight years as a Certified Veterinary Technician.

Linda Van Gieson, Director of the Southern Home & Garden Show
Linda Van Gieson joined HBA of Greenville as Director of the Southern Home & Garden Show in 2004, following a 30-year career in show management with Textile Hall Corporation. A Certified Exhibition Manager (CEM), Linda was Associate Director of the American Textile Machinery Exhibition-International -a member of TradeshowWeek 200, the largest 200 trade shows in the United States and Canada. She also has produced numerous consumer shows, including Greenville's long-running Boat, RV & Sports Show and Holiday Fair. Linda presently serves on the Awards Committee of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE). She is a 2002 IAEE Merit Award winner for contributions to the exhibitions industry in the Southeast region.

Karen Crowder, Director of Government Affairs
Karen Crowder is Director of Government Affairs for the HBA.  Karen is responsible for monitoring local governments for issues pertinent to the home building industry and our membership.  She also staffs the Legislative Committee.  She comes to the HBA from the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce, where she served as Assistant to the President for nearly eight years.

Liz Davison, Communications Manager
Liz Davison is Communications Manager for the Greenville HBA. She writes and edits for all HBA publications, including Builder Review and Builder Review Online, manages and updates the website and assists with event planning duties.  Previously, Liz served as Manager of Public Relations for Brett Communications and as a copywriter for a local eBay company.

Stacie Byrd, Administrative Assistant
Stacie Byrd has joined the HBA full-time as Administrative Assistant after working part-time for the last two years for the Southern Home and Garden Show and HBA Golf Tournament. Prior to working at the HBA, Stacie served as South Carolina’s representative for the American Adoption Congress and as an investigator for the adoption community. She also was Vice President of Lucia in Winston-Salem, NC.
