One of the many benefits of being a member is the opportunity to work with fellow members to advance the interests of the building industry and the mission of the association through committee service. Committees work with the Board of Directors to bring new ideas and programs to the membership. All members who serve in leadership positions, including committee members, assume an important role in the association.
Government Affairs Committee
J. Coleman Shouse, APB, Chair
Coordinates member involvement in local, state and national government and political activities. Recommends to the Board of Directors positions on public policy matters and coordinates the association's participation in S.C. Builders PAC, the statewide cooperative PAC, and BuildPAC, the Federal PAC. Committee membership is open to any member in good standing.

Establishes goals for association membership growth and development. Works with the Board of Directors, members at-large, and association staff to recruit new members. Committee membership is open to any member in good standing.
Associate Members Committee

Coordinates programs and events to bring associates and builders together for networking and education including Builder After Hours, Golf Tournament, and Clay Tournament. Committee membership is open to any Associate member in good standing.
Community Service Committee

Sales and Marketing Council Board of Trustees

Park Sterling Bank
Governs the affairs the the Sales and Marketing Council of the Upstate. Board members are elected by the members of the council for specific terms of office.
Southern Home & Garden Show Committee

The Heirloom Companies
Assists with planning of the Southern Home & Garden Show which is produced twice annually on the first full weekend of March and the third full weekend of September. Committee membership is open to any member in good standing who exhibits in the Southern Home and Garden Show.
Matt Shouse, APB, Chair
Coordinates member involvement in the building code adoption and enforcement process and builds and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with codes enforcement officials. Committee membership is open to any member in good standing.

Oversees the financial integrity of the association. Committee membership is closed.

Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of the Executive Vice President and advised the Executive Vice President on matters related to association staffing. Committee membership is closed.
